SV DevOps Meetup: A day in the life of a DevOps Sysadmin, Sep 7, 2010
3rd Silicon Valley DevOps Meetup
Our 3rd meet-up will be Tues Sept 7th at 6:30pm. Aaron Peterson of OpsCode will give a talk called "A day in the life of a DevOps Sysadmin" where he will share what it looks and feels like to dive in to the business needs from the Sysadmin's point of view.
Aaron says "Working with developers and feeding them what they need, they begin to reciprocate. And YOU (the sysadmin) start actually hearing about what you need in order to prepare operations for the changes ahead. This interworking is directly supported by the chef systems integration framework, which I'll use in concrete examples."
This talk will certainly get to the heard of what it means to be DevOps.
See you there!
Dave & Damon
Note: The first two Silicon Valley DevOps Meet-Ups (@SVDevOps) were in July & Aug. The videos of the DevOps Toolchain talk and "Ruby Projects of Interest to DevOps" talks can be found in our SVDevOps Group account on Vimeo.
